Overview

HX is an ambitious cross-platform 2D game concept combining adventure, strategy and RPG elements in real time.

The story takes place during a dark age in an imaginary world, where Light and Darkness fight for control. It was conceived as the first release in a trilogy called Lord of the Storm, with the full title Lord of the Storm: Bloody Demon.

The goal is to create a game that draws the player into a large story while they manage a kingdom, win battles, solve problems through logic and discovery, and uncover more of the world through exploration. The design target combines the real-time playability of StarCraft with the sense of discovery and problem solving found in the Ultima game series.

The project has had several development phases since the early 2000s. It is currently kept as an archived/in-development concept while the wider Vaeloom setting is being reviewed.
